UNIFORM PATROL
The uniform patrol division is the backbone of the Simmesport Police Department. This division consists of five full time police officers and five part time police officers that rotate 12 hour shifts, providing security and emergency services 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The uniform patrol division is responsible for providing patrols throughout the town and answering calls for service from the public. The patrol division also responds to traffic emergencies and is responsible for traffic law enforcement on all of our public roads.
INVESTIGATIONS
The investigative division is under the command of Captain Chris Jeansonne. This division is responsible for investigating all criminal activities where an arrest could not be immediately made. Along with criminal investigations, this division also conducts narcotics investigations in an attempt to rid our streets of narcotic activities.
Crisis Response team
The Crisis Response Team, under the command of Lieutenant Brandon Spillman, is a group of trained officers who can be assembled at any time to handle any situation requiring specialized training. This team is capable of dealing with a number of situations such as hostage rescue, barricaded suspects, and high risk search/arrest warrants. Officers on this team are carefully selected and highly trained professionals.
